Groundbreaking May 20, 2004

REPLACEMENT RANCHO HIGH SCHOOL

Construction Update Winter 2005

TO OUR STUDENTS, PARENTS, ALUMNI AND COMMUNITY:

Construction is on schedule for completion in May 2006
Replacement Rancho High School will open in August 2006
Steel framing is nearly 80 percent complete
Second floor slab on deck has been poured
Electrical, mechanical and plumbing rough is ongoing
Memorial wall, cornerstone and jet monument in design
Scope of $75 million project includes:
330,000-square-foot mall-style high school
Organized into four academic houses
73 classrooms
14 science labs
5 computer labs
3 art studios, plus photography studio
2 family and consumer science labs
Drafting technology lab
Automotive technology lab
120-seat lecture hall
Medical and aviation magnet program special facilities
2,700-seat gymnasium
300-seat auxiliary gymnasium
Wrestling, dance, weight rooms and locker room facilities
State-of-the-art, 460-seat theater
Drama room and backstage facilities
Enhanced classrooms for band, orchestra, choir programs

REPLACEMENT PHASE II
Work on athletic fields is scheduled to start on July 3, 2006
Scope of work includes:
5,000-seat football stadium
Three concession/restroom buidlings
Baseball field
Softball field
Practice field
8 tennis courts
5 basketball court


Reconstructed breezeway

New classroom
